Additionally, the division offers environmentally-friendly solutions with its water processing and raw material processing systems.
Siemens was amongst the first to launch mobile water treatment in Saudi Arabia. The system is ideal for temporary and short-term applications in pilot studies, seasonal water needs, emergency and scheduled shutdowns, supplemental supply for peaks or maintenance, and the commissioning and start up of new plants. The system treats ground water and has a daily capacity of 200 gallons per minute, supplying 99 % pure water.
The Building Technologies Division bundles Siemens’ solutions for building safety and security automation and operates both as a service provider as well as a manufacturer of products and systems. The spectrum of products ranges from heating, cooling and ventilation systems to security and Fire detection and protection systems.

The Velaro high-speed train: fast, economical and safe for the environment.The Velaro is the most successful high-speed train in the world, over 160 trains based on this platform will be operating all over the world, including Germany, Spain, China and Russia. Not only does the Velaro minimize operating and maintenance costs, but emissions are also extremely low in relation to the high transport capacity. In addition, low energy consumption and the use of environmentally friendly materials help save valuable natural resources.A train unit will have a total of 16 cars and accommodate approximately 1,060 passengers. The total length of 400 meters means that the new model will be the world’s longest single train in use in the area of high speed transportation. It will be able to achieve an operating speed of 350 km/h.During the Olympic Games in China 2008, Eleven of these trains have been in service between Bejing and Tianjin and boast a degree of punctuality of over 99%.
